The final match of the year began with the Friday night juniors. Cudlee Creek to little
surprise continue their great skills and performance. Clean sweeping against Harrogate,
Linda Kanberga with another 6-0 win in all her sets. Mt Pleasant had a strong victory over
Kersbrook. Harry Cottrell picking up a great win, 6-0, at the top singles set for Kersbrook.
Kersbrook Blue also clean sweeping the match against Birdwood. Despite some close
matches, Kersbrook Blue were too good on the night.
Gumeracha picked up their first loss of the season against Mt Pleasant Blue this week. Mt
Pleasant Blue’s Dan Cook winning all three of his sets at the top seed spot, aiding Mt
Pleasant to their victory. Cudlee Creek picking up a great win against Mt Pleasant. Cudlee
Creek featuring a couple juniors who are only gaining confidence playing senior tennis.
James Schibrowski cruising through his top singles set 6-0. Kersbrook hosted Woodside in a
well fought out match. Kersbrook picking up the win with help from their double’s
dominance.
Birdwood hosted Springton in a one-sided victory. Birdwood playing great tennis picking up
the majority of sets. Luke Markey and Samuel Beeson meeting for another great singles hit
out. Eventually going in favour of Springton’s Samuel. Todd Gripton showing great class
throughout the day, cruising through his sets comfortably for Birdwood. Woodside faced
Kersbrook in another tight match. Kersbrook finishing the day strong winning all the reverse
doubles concluding their victory against Woodside. Woodside Darren Lee playing great
tennis at the top spot singles, picking up the win against Kersbrook’s Bailey Wake. Mt
Pleasant continuing their strong form into the Christmas break, defeating Harrogate.
Harrogate’s Shannon O’Shea and Corey Hogben both picked up great single wins for
Harrogate, but Mt Pleasant were too strong. Great performances from Tricia Owens and
Alysha Seager, winning their three sets.
