Hot weather once again marred the TVTA senior grand finals. For the second year in a row heat has
meant that the senior grand finals have been cancelled and the minor premiers in all grades have
been declared premiers.

After missing out last year Mt Pleasant have won the A grade having lost just one match for the
season. Unfortunately, Birdwood find themselves on the receiving end two years running. It’s been a
strong season from both sides, and unfortunately there was always going to be an unlucky team.
In the B grade Gumeracha go back-to-back after another strong season, Gumeracha have been right
in the mix for the whole season and deserve their premiership, the unlucky team was Springton who
won the A grade last season. They have struggled all season to gain momentum and finished the
minor round in fourth place. The weather in the final’s series did not help their cause.

Woodside after an excellent home and away series celebrate their return to Torrens Valley with a
flag. Runners up Mt Torrens can consider themselves unlucky as they had all the momentum leading
into the finals but were foiled by the weather. Unfortunate as it is, Mt Torrens can go into next
season full of confidence.

The junior match went ahead on a balmy Friday night at Mt Pleasant and Cudlee Creek won a good
match to complete their excellent season and remain undefeated for the year. Whilst the score was
6 sets to 0 there were some excellent matches with great rallies and lots of deuce games. The luck in
these games went to the more experienced Cudlee Creek. Kersbrook Blue’s Jay and Will McFarland
along with Tom Foster can be extremely proud of their season. Especially considering that they have
come up from D grade. Also making the grand final after finishing fourth in the minor round shows
how determined these boys have been. For Cudlee Creek, Linda, and Eva Kanberga along with Alby
Lindquist have had an outstanding season and the premiership is well deserved.
