Mt Pleasant had a great win in the Friday night juniors. Advancing through to the GF defeating Birdwood. Eli Cook playing great tennis as a late entry at the top seed for Mt Pleasant. Along with Sid Devarasatty, who also won his sets for Mt Pleasant. It was a close match, with some sets coming down to the wire and multiple matches reaching 5-5. Well done to Birdwood for making it that far, an excellent season of tennis.
The C grade showed a strong Kersbrook team defeat Mt Pleasant Blue. A strong season continues for the Kersbrook team, winning 8 sets to 4, advancing to face against Gumeracha in the GF. Great tennis from the top players, John Morgan and Kane Paues, winning their sets for Kersbrook. Stand out players however were Isabella Mariano and Lauren Porter, winning all of their sets helping their team advance to the next round. With many players and fresh faces throughout their season, the great run for Mt Pleasant Blue comes to a finish.
To the final match up, Mt Pleasant cruised through Springton. Dominating in almost all areas, proving to be too strong for the visiting team. Only dropping a few sets, Mt Pleasant goes on to play Birdwood in the grand final. Brilliant tennis from Michael, Alistair, and Tricia – all winning their singles 6-1. Mark Cranwell proving to be a strong doubles opponent, winning his two doubles sets. Alysha Seager also playing great tennis, winning her sets at number 5. A solid season for Springton finishing 3rd, and top seed Samuel Beeson remaining undefeated in the singles this season, however, Mt Pleasant was too experienced and clinical on the day. Their depth and skills outclassed Springton and has put them through to the next round. We look forward to seeing the match up of the top two teams next Saturday.
Well done to all the winners and good luck next week!
